It's forgedfrom aJDcultivatortine, then all thestockremovalandfinishingwasdoneby hand usingfiles, stones and sandpaper,I used no power toolsexceptfor adrill.This onelooks a bit"rustic"compared to what I usually do. Finishing a blade without power tools, really makesmeappreciatemybelt grinder!!

SoI've been usingthese designsas a startingpoint fordecoratingthe spoons I'm making too. It'spainstakingworkwitha micrograverand ajewelersloupe, butreallyfun andchallenging.





Oh and Imanagedtofinish a coupleofblades , andevensold'emTheFirstismadefrom anoldfile withcurly maplefrom the famousHarperBrush Company'sscrappile. The2'nd is1084 highcarbonin amoretraditional saxshape , rather than themoremodernwharncliff style.Itboasts, brass hardwareandan Americanwalnuthandle with aredspacer. TheysoldbeforeI couldevenmakesheathsfor them.
